We didn’t have time during our short trip to Scottsdale to stay overnight in Sedona, but I definitely wanted to visit the desert town, not far from Flagstaff, that is famous for the magnificent red rocks.
As we approached Sedona, on our way in, we were in awe at the panoramic views of the Red Rocks; which were not, in fact, only red. Rather, they changed from browns to reds with a sprinkling of green from the pine forests. On top of all that was a thin layer of snow left from a recent snowfall. It looked like an artist’s rendering.
We started with a short hike with beautiful views. After that we headed to Route 89 in town which was cute and quaint with shops and restaurants. We went to check in at the Pink Jeep Tours for our tour of the area in the jeep. The views from the street were magnificent. The red rock formations were everywhere and could be enjoyed from within Sedona not just on the outskirts or in official parks.
I would definitely love to return to Sedona to enjoy more of its unbelievable beauty.
