I wouldn’t call The Paintbrush just a Ceramic Studio since it is so much more. There are so many different types of painting options to suit all interests and skill levels.
Their large two room studio is open almost every day for walk-ins ready to create something special. Their friendly and helpful staff will assist you in choosing the project that works best for you.
Their tremendous variety of options include lots of decorative plaster plaques and figurines. Plaster projects are painted with non-washable acrylic paints (aprons are provided). Once the painting is done it is sprayed with a clear glossy finish with the option of adding glitter to give it a sparkle. When we visited, we wanted something that would be ready once we left. We painted plaster projects and really enjoyed it.
The plaster projects are ready to be taken home when done. On the other hand the ceramics are painted with washable paints. There are lots of practical objects to choose from such as plates and all types of serving dishes. After finishing to paint a ceramic it gets fired in a kiln and usually takes two weeks to be ready for pickup. Ceramics are dishwasher safe.
The Paintbrush offers an original way of creating a beautiful canvas painting. They have all different lightly sketched scenes to choose from and using the sketch as a base you can paint a beautiful scene without drawing experience.
The Paintbrush also offers private paint parties where all attendees get to paint the same scene with step by step instructions. No painting experience is necessary.
Fluid art is a form of modern art painting that The Paintbrush offers. Mixing and layering paint colors in a specialized way is used to form the Fluid art pieces. For fluid art advance reservations are needed.
The Paintbrush runs a variety of Sunday Clubs for girls in 2nd-8th grade (divided by age). The courses are for a few weeks on Sundays where the girls learn a skill and create a masterpiece.
If you love painting and creating something on your own, The Paintbrush is the place for you.
