We loved Alki Kayak Tour of the Elliot Bay. It was the perfect combination of sightseeing and fun kayaking in the Bay. The friendly and professional guides helped us gear up and get comfortable with the tandem kayaks we were using. Kayaking in the Bay is not just paddling in a still lake. It took us time to get used to the waves and feel confident in our abilities to use the rudders to steer the kayaks. The guides helped us along while pointing out the various points of interest.
We got to see the Seattle Skyline; The Space Needle, The Seattle Great Wheel and even a cruise ship leaving to Alaska. In the water we spotted jellyfish and lots and lots of salmon playfully jumping out of the water. We were treated to beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains in the distance and we got to see a huge cargo ship anchored. We spotted trucks and tractors among the many containers on the ship.
The tour was not just about the many sights. It was so enjoyable sitting in the kayak, literally on the water, while enjoying the beautiful sunny weather.
Both the adults and the children in our groups were very reluctant to return to shore at the end of the tour. It was definitely a highlight of our visit to Seattle.
