Before heading to Leavenworth Adventures mountain coaster after our enjoyable trip with Leavenworth Zipline, we wanted to stop someplace for a quick picnic lunch. Blackbird Island located within the Leavenworth Waterfront Park is just minutes from Leavenworth Adventures.

We parked on a side street near the park entrance and walked over the Blackbird Island Bridge. We saw many people floating along the scenic Wenatchee River on tubes or rafts. Floating and playing in the Wenatchee River seems to be a popular activity.

Once we crossed over the bridge we got to the shady Island with walking paths leading in all directions. We walked for a short couple of minutes until we found a clearing with magnificent view of the river framed by mountains. We sat on a downed log and enjoyed our lunch. Once we finished eating we headed back to our car and continued to Leavenworth Adventures.
