After Visiting the Ballard Fish Ladder and the Ballard Locks we continued on to the adjacent Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden. The 7-acre garden with paved pathways meandering through the gardens with the many plants, trees and manicured lawns. We enjoyed the rose garden when we visited. The benches placed strategically around the garden are great for relaxing and enjoying the pretty landscape.
We also stopped by the Visitor’s Center/Museum and Gift Shop located on the grounds of the garden. The The main floor of the Visitor’s Center houses the gift shop and theater. The second floor has exhibits showcasing the history of the Locks and other relevant information.
A walk in the serene garden really rounded out the visit to the Locks area.
