The Pre la Joux area in Chatel is a popular spot where many BMX bikers come to ride on the mountain paths specifically made for them. It is fascinating to watch all the professional bikers practice and do stunts.

Chatel Fun Bike located at the base of the mountain offers a unique experience where people can rent and ride BMX bikes without being experienced in it. They offer downhill BMX bike rentals for trails specifically designed for beginners. (They also have more advanced trails for the experienced riders.)

When we arrived we were fitted with BMX bikes and safety gear (helmets, knee pads and elbow pads). We were given instructions on how to ride BMX bikes and we practiced in the parking area before heading out onto the green alpine trail (the easiest trail). You don’t need to be a professional biker to ride the Fun Bikes although riders must be taller than 140 cm) We followed the downhill trail swerving in an out of the woods. The braver ones in our group went over the modules while the others rode around them. At the bottom of the hill we entered the closed conveyor belt which brought us and our bikes up the hill to start the trail again. The biking was thrilling! It was a new experience for us but yet it was doable. Once we did the green trail a few times some of the better bikers did the more difficult blue course.

There is also a laser Biathlon activity located just near the biking park.
