We left in the late afternoon on a long car ride to Canada. We wanted to stop at a park to eat our picnic supper before it got dark. We stopped at Dutchman’s Landing Park. It was the perfect spot for us to stop. The park is located in the Catskills on the bank of the Hudson River with beautiful views of the river and the Rip Van Winkle Bridge.
We ate our sandwiches at a picnic table in the gazebo on a grassy field. There is a paved path leading to the gazebo and continues near the water. There are additional picnic tables, grill stations and benches spread throughout the park.
We watched a fellow catch a small fish while fishing on the small boat launch when we passed by.
There is a volleyball net on the grassy near the playground. The playground appears to be quite new. It has great elements. Our family especially enjoyed the zip line on hanging on a metal bar. There are 2 climbing structures with slides, swings and so much more. There is also a separate exercise section with bars and posted instructions.
Dutchman’s Landing was a great park to stop at. It was hard to get the kids back into the car to continue our drive-everyone was having such a good time!
