Lions Park:
Upper Saddle River, NJ

Whenever we passed Lions Park over the years, we would notice the alluring playground, fields and creek. However, there were always signs posted that the park was only for Saddle River residents.

In recent years, I believe, it was deemed illegal to only allow residents to a town park. I’ve recently gone to check out the park and did not see the residents-only sign. I did notice signs in the parking lot saying residents-only parking at certain spots.

We had a great time visiting the gated playground with a few climbing structures, slides, monkey bars and swings. There are large grassy sports fields. Across the playground, past the grassy fields is a path alongside a beautiful creek. It is a quiet relaxing place to sit with the water gurgling in the background.
