Lowry Park is best known for the Lowry Park Zoo located on the grounds (there is an admission fee for the zoo). The Zoo is on one side of North Blvd. Across the street bordering the Hillsborough River is a nice serene park with walking paths, grassy fields, many picnic tables and grill stations  including a picnic shelter with many tables under the roof. I noticed more than one playground from a distance. There is a fishing dock and a  boat launch area at the park for those who bring their own boats.
