Manhattan by Sail-Clipper City at the Battery:
New York, NY

by | Jul 3, 2019 | 0 comments

There are many options of boat rides offering close-up views of the Manhattan Skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Viewing the Statue of Liberty up close while on a large sail boat is a truly unique experience.

It was a glorious spring day when we sailed on the Clipper City for an hour and a half. We sailed from Battery Park. The boat docked at Slip 2, adjacent to the Battery Garden Restaurant.

When the Clipper left shore, we were afforded magnificent views of the NYC skyline. We were filled with awe when the huge sails were raised.

Once we got near the Statue of Liberty, we were given plenty of time to view her and take our photographs before slowly heading back. We also spotted the Shearwater, Manhattan Sail’s other boat, near Lady Liberty.

There was a refreshment stand on board. All the staff members were extremely friendly and courteous, making our experience a positive one in every way.
