During our recent visit to Rochester I searched the map for a nice park by Lake Ontario where can enjoy a picnic supper at the majestic lake.

Webster Park fit the bill. We approached Lake Road and on one side is the playground (no view of Lake Ontario-not right by the water) and a little further down the road is the Webster Pier.

The playground seems to be installed in recent years. There is a large wood climbing structure with blue accent. There are swings and other fun elements scattered around. My son’s favorite was the area with wood chips and many toy trucks and tractors to play with.

The pier was a great place to visit the Lake and see it in it’s splendor. We went in the late afternoon, the sun began it’s decent and the wave were very powerful. The waves were spilling over onto the walkway which leads from the parking lot to the pier. The pier also got its share of wave splashing on it. We really enjoyed walking along the pier and even sitting near the parking lot on the benches. There are also a couple of picnic tables near the parking lot.

It was difficult for us to leave once the sun was setting. We really enjoyed the magnificent Lake Ontario.
