Corolla, NC

The 39-acre Historic Corolla Park, also known as the Currituck Heritage Park, is located right in the town of Corolla and is home to a beautiful new playground, with lots of grassy areas and picnic tables, walking paths, and a boat ramp. It’s a popular destination for fishing and launching boats.

The park is also right near the Whalehead Club, The Currituck Beach Lighthouse and The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education.

When we visited the park the children enjoyed playing at the playground which features a large elephant head with slides among the other play structures. There is a large covered picnic pavilion with many tables adjacent to the playground. We also enjoyed the views of the water with the birds perched on the side looking for fish near the pier.

The Historic Corolla Park is a popular place to catch a beauiful sunset.
