The Amstelpark has been a favorite spot in Amsterdam for over 45 years. It has lots of different activities and it is a fun place to spend a few hours or even a full day. The park is beautifully landscaped with gardens and streams throughout. The playground has many exciting climbing structures, a zip line and the traditional slides. There are grass fields to enjoy playing on or just to relax or have a picnic. The petting zoo is exciting. Not only are there the traditional sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens, there are also kangaroos there.
The Amstel train is a convenient way to get from one area of the park to another. The Bastion is an area of rides such as bumping boats, little cars and other rides that can be enjoyed by the little ones. There is no entrance fee, pay per ride.
The mini golf, located near the playground, is another fun activity. Kids love the challenge of finding their way out of the maze made of yew hedges.
The Amstelpark is a great combination of nature and fun activities for all ages.
