Brooks Park and Lake:
Highland Falls, NY

We decided to stop at Brooks Park just minutes away from Bear Mountains and Fort Montgomery. We were in the neighborhood and the kids wanted to play at a playground. The park was deserted on that Friday afternoon in the fall. The children enjoyed the playground and the adults enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake just above the parking lot. We noticed a wide path to the left of where we parked. The signs posted showed that it circles the lake. Although it doesn’t seem to be a very long walk, we chose to stay in the parking area.

In addition to the lake and the playground, there is a basketball court, baseball field, a grassy area with a picnic pavilion and some scattered picnic tables and grilling station all in the parking lot area.

Although the park gives an impression of smallness, there is plenty to do in this well planned area.
