In the early 60′s, George Groff opened a display of mini trains, scenery, buildings, and animated figures in a barn along Route 741 in Strasburg, PA, after word spread of his fascinating train display in his basement. Choo Choo Barn became a hit with locals and visitors alike.
Over the next few years, the display continued to grow and then grow some more. In time, his children began to help out and eventually his youngest son Thomas, and his wife Linda, became the new owners, builders, and operators of the Choo Choo Barn.
The 1,700 square foot train display with over 150 hand-built animated figures and vehicles and 22 operating trains at Choo Choo Barn is an attraction enjoyable for all ages. You don’t need to be a model railroading enthusiast to enjoy the scenery and animations presented on this display.
