Druid Hill Park:
Baltimore, MD

Druid Hill Park is adjacent to the Maryland Zoo. It is one of the oldest large public parks in the United States. I stopped at this 745 acre park on my way from Baltimore Harbor to Baltimore Proper. I was amazed by what I saw. The park has acres upon acres of grass, there is every type of sports field including baseball, basketball and tennis. There are playgrounds and picnic areas.

The lake, actually a reservoir, is currently under construction and only due to be completed in 2022. The path around the lake is a great place to walk or hike.

While checking out the different areas in the park I came across the cutest miniature city, Safety City set up by the Baltimore Department of Transportation to teach children important rules of safety. The miniature city is gated in and school groups, youth groups and day care centers can book appointments to visit the educational city.
