Business in Ocean City is extremely seasonal. Many businesses can’t afford to stay open aside for during the summertime beach season.

During off season weekends, Ocean City hosts different shows to attract visitors. When we visited this past October (2020) we were lucky to be there during the Summer Cruisin’ Event. This event features antique cars. When a local told me that there will be thousands of antique cars driving into Ocean City for the weekend show I thought it was an exaggeration. I’m not sure if there were literally thousands but there definitely were hundreds. Wednesday afternoon we started noticing the antique cars around and as the day was turning into evening we saw more and more of the cars on the streets.

Although we were on vacation we decided to wake up early Thursday morning to head to the Boardwalk to see the parade of antique cars. We definitely did not regret it. It was fascinating to see so many antique cars driving down the boardwalk with the scenic beach on the side. Spectators sat on the benches lining the boardwalk to see the cars passing to get to the Inlet Parking Lot where they parked for the show. There were so many cars it felt like it would never end.

Even though we are not Antique Car aficionados we enjoyed the parade immensely. It was a real bonus to be in Ocean City during that time.

The 24th Annual Endless Summer Cruisin’ Event is scheduled forOctober 7-8-9-10, 2021. If you can make it to Ocean City at that time it is definitely worthwhile.
