Family friendly is the best way to describe Hershey Park amusement park. It does not just cater to little children, nor only to adults; there are rides for all ages. The best part is that the little kids’ rides are not only contained to one area, there are more sprinkled throughout the larger rides. When we visited, we were able to go around together as a family. The big children would go on a more major ride while the little ones would go right nearby to a ride appropriate for their age.
The rides are divided up by category named for Hershey products. 60 inches and taller is called a Jolly Rancher while under 36 inches is called a Hershey Miniature. There are four more height categories as well. Once you arrive at the park you are measured and given a bracelet according to your height category. The rides are all labeled with the height categories that are allowed on.
Hershey Park is home to 13 roller coasters with something appropriate for new riders as well as the experts. The Boardwalk is an area designated specifically for water rides although there are one or two water rides within the main park. There is a big variety of family rides as well as over 20 rides especially for the real little ones.
There are Hershey themed characters milling about for guests to greet and pose for pictures with. There are also mini parades and shows going on around the park that add a feeling of festivity to the air.
