When we were in the French Alps this summer we decided to drive two and a half hours to the Interlaken/Grindelwald area in Switzerland for a two-day trip.
We had very limited options of accommodations for the one night. We ended up staying in an inn in the small village of Lauterbrunnen near Interlaken and the Grindelwald area with the magnificent alps. The Village is set in a valley featuring rocky cliffs with waterfalls flowing off the cliffs.
The Inn was quite old, and most of the other Inns we saw nearby seemed to be similar, but we managed for the one night.
We stayed just a few minutes’ walk from the Staubbach Falls and enjoyed a visit in the evening.
The town of Lauterbrunnen was hopping. There were lots of tourists and youths walking the streets well into the evening. Although there were views of the Staubbach Falls and Jungfrau Mountain right in the town, I would have preferred a quieter, calmer village without all the youths hanging around.
