McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park:
Scottsdale, AZ

Although my visit to Scottsdale was without my children, I had to check out the fascinating 30-acre McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. Once I got there, I wished my children were with me to enjoy this unique park.

There are two playgrounds set on beach sand. The playgrounds have separate areas for 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds. The playground was created in the Western Town theme with trains.

There are large steam trains on display at the park and on Saturdays and Sundays from October to May visitors can take a 10 minute ride on a a 1.5 inches to 1 foot scale train through the park’s two acre, desert arboretum for a small fee.

Children can also ride the beautifully carved antique Scottsdale Charros Carousel at the park.

Scottsdale’s Railroad Museum is located at the park and the latest addition to the park is the large model railroad with mini scenes of trains.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to enjoy the park, the park is attractively designed and a visit is definitely worthwhile.
