Perkins Memorial:
Stony Point, NY

by | Oct 15, 2019 | 0 comments

I returned to Perkins Memorial last week to see if I can get in some views of the amazing fall foliage. Since it was a little late in the season I only got to see some remnants. I could only imagine how beautiful it is at the height of the fall season.

Perkins Memorial, at the top of Bear Mountain, with a Tower at the peak offers magnificent views of the Hudson Highlands and Harriman State Park. On a clear day there are views all the way to New York City. The best part about Perkins Memorial is that there is a street leading to the top. You don’t need to climb up to be rewarded with the spectacular views. There is an easy hike down from Perkins Memorial to the Lake at Bear Mountains State Park. The hike is a favorite in our family and we love to go there whenever we have a chance.
