The Piermont Pier has a rich history. Built in the 19th century to help with the river traffic, it was used during World War II as a point of departure for the troops leaving to Europe. Piermont Pier is a mile long with beautiful views from deeper waters just off the shore of the Hudson River. The pier is open all year for pedestrians, however vehicle traffic is only allowed during quieter seasons. The pier is a very popular spot for fishing or can be enjoyed as a walking or jogging path. The Tappan Zee Bridge can be seen from the pier and, if you look carefully enough, you can see the pier from the bridge as well.
