Sherwood Island State Park:
Wesport, CT

Whenever the weather starts warming up I find myself very much in the mood of sitting at the water. I do not like crowded beaches. I wasn’t planning on swimming, it wasn’t warm enough for that. I just wanted to sit at the water.  I decided to visit Sherwood Island Park. The 235 acre popular park was relatively empty on that spring day. I can only imagine how full it gets in the heat of the summer.

The park was picturesque. There were designated swimming areas, many picnic tables, and grilling stations. Most of the paths alongside the water were not paved. There were paved paths near the nature center and 9/11 Memorial. The water looked extremely inviting, with views of some small Islands out in the distance.
