Six Flags Great Adventures and Safari:
Jackson, NJ

Like all Six Flags Theme Parks, Great Adventures is fun for all ages. Bugs Bunny National Park has six kiddie rides in one area where the really little ones can go from one ride to the next. There are other kiddie rides scattered throughout the park. The family rides, such as the Big Wheel, the Carousel, Fender Benders, Skyway Frontier Adventures and many more,  accommodate the big and little ones and can be enjoyed together as a family. There are 18 Thrill rides including 10 different roller coasters can be relished by the daring ones.

The Safari Off Road Adventure is a genuine safari experience and is included in the entrance fee.  The Safari is entered through the park and is near the Frontier Adventures. On a busy day the wait time to enter a truck t go on the Safari Adventure can be very long. It is advisable to go as early as possible.

There are over 1,200 animals hailing from 6 continents are found in the 350 acre preserve including giraffes, tigers, elephants, kangaroos and many more animals. Narrated Jungle Trucks take visitors close to the animals. When we visited the giraffes walked right up to our truck.

We visited a second time at the end of August, 2020 after their reopening during the Covid19 pandemic. All visitors had timed tickets for entering the park (with masks of course.) We actually enjoyed visiting more because of the timed tickets. The lines were not very long especially in the morning hours and in the late afternoon (when people started leaving, and new people weren’t coming.) My teenagers had a blast on the many roller coasters in the park.

One major difference because of Covid19 is that the Safari tickets are not included in the theme park tickets. The Safari can be visited only in your own cars, not in the Safari trucks with a separate fee of $20 per person.
