I was blown away that it was only a few minute walk from our accommodations to the Super Chatel Cable Car. Once in the gondola on the way up, there are magnificent views of the town below and the surrounding mountains. The gondola transports guests up 1,650 m to a beautiful scenic area with a building that has restrooms, a patio with chairs and a restaurant. The Chatel Adventure Ropes Course is located a short walk from the cable car station.

Right near the arrival area of the Super Chate gondola is a 6-seater chair lift that continues up to Morclan. The Morclan Chairlift is at an altitude of 1,970 meters. Morclan offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding area. On one side there are views of the Mont Blanc. The Information boards help people know what you are seeing. The views were so magnificent that it was hard to believe that we were staying right below the mountain.

There are paths circling the viewing area. And many hiking paths veering off in different directions.  It is a great spot to start a hike from, with the open views in all directions Morclan offers so many hiking opportunities. Hiking from Morclan into Switzerland is not a very long way.

Morclan is also the take-off area for paragliders. We didn’t see any taking off but we did see people paragliding when we were down in the village.
