Swiftwater Falls and Covered Bridge:
Bath, NH

What can be better than a combination of a waterfall and historic bridge? Swiftwater Covered Bridge and Waterfall was worth the hour-long car ride from where we were staying in Lincoln.

Just over the Swiftwater Covered Bridge is a parking lot, where there is a path that leads to Swiftwater Falls and the large and very popular swimming hole. The waterfall is fed by the Ammonoosuc River and has a double drop with a large area at the bottom to swim in. The water then flows into a shallow rocky area. The waterfall is not only great for swimming, it is also pretty to view.

When we visited we watched people jump down over the waterfall while others would slide down. The waterfall runs over a large rock which works well as a giant natural slide. There are nice big rocks near the waterfall that we used to relax and tan on.

When we went right at the bottom of the waterfall we saw many tiny fish trying to jump up onto the waterfall. It was fascinating to watch the fish jump up and then slide down.
