On our way back from Pigeon Forge to Nashville I wanted to do something to break up the drive. When I looked at the map and saw Top of Ozone Falls right on our route, I decided it would be the perfect place to stop.
We pulled up at a small dirt parking lot (after some wrong directions from Google Maps) with an official sign offering information about the waterfall and the area.
We followed the dirt path for a max of five minutes and we arrived at the top of the 110 foot waterfall. The area above the waterfall has large rocks with a beautiful area of flowing water that feeds the waterfall. We had lots of fun frolicking in the water and lying on the rocks in the sunshine.
One word of caution: The waterfall is not gated off. There are no safety measures in place on top of the waterfall. Visitors must use caution when enjoying the Top of the Falls.
It is possible to climb down to the bottom of the waterfall although it is steep. Most people visiting while we were there stayed at the top and enjoyed the majestic beauty of the Top of Ozone Falls.
