Van Cortlandt Park:
Bronx, NY

Van Cortlandt Park is huge! It is the third largest park in New York and spans more than 1,000 acres. I decided to visit one day and see this tremendous park for myself. I obviously got to see only a small part of it. We parked on the street near the Woodland Playground. It is a real city park. There were many people there and lots of activities to keep children busy. In addition to the playground there was a basketball court and ball fields both behind the playground and on the side. Picnic tables were situated between the playground and the ball field behind. You can keep busy for hours on end at Van Cortlandt Park.
