A’Labordage Kayaking:
Mont-Tremblant, QC

We had such an amazing day kayaking on the scenic Devil’s River in Mont Tremblant with A’Labordage.

When we arrived at the A’labordage office we were greeted by the friendly staff and checked in. We were fitted with life jackets and given safety instructions before we boarded the bus for the eight-minute ride up alongside the river to the launching spot. A’Labordage offers single kayaks, tandem kayaks, SUP Boards and Canoes for the ride down the river. We chose tandem kayaks.

The helpful guides helped us bring our boats of choice down to the river and helped us start out on out 11 kilometer ride down the beautiful and scenic Devil’s River. Each party can go at their own pace back to the starting point by the office. There are signs posted along the way with the amount of kilometers covered so that you have an idea of how far you are both from the beginning and from the end.

The river was calm and enjoyable. There are a few small areas of Class I rapids that made it all the more fun for us.

The river has many nice areas and secluded beaches to stop and take a break and swim or just relax.

The trip down the river takes approximately two hours but usually takes closer to three hours because of the many nice stops on the way.

We stopped at one of the pebble beaches to enjoy a picnic lunch we brought along before we continued on our way. I could not get enough of the scenic views on all sides.

When we were about halfway through it started raining. There was no thunder, lightning or dangerous conditions so we just continued on. We wore clothing that we were prepared to get wet so it really did not bother us all that much. The only difference was that we stopped less than we would have.

As a family, all of us, no matter the age enjoyed the kayaking immensely. It was a natural and fun experience with some adventure in the mix as well. I highly recommend it.
