The 0.7 mile hike up Bald Mountain was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a short hike but with beautiful views. The hike up Bald Mountain is short-it took about half an hour up to the rocks and a sweeping view of Cannon Mountain, Echo Lake and the surrounding mountains.
The hike was all uphill with large rocks that needed to be scaled at the top. The hike is not very easy but rated as moderate mostly because of the large rocks at the top. Since it isn’t a long hike I’ve seen plenty of little children (including my own) and some more elderly people climb Bald Mountain.
When we got to the very large rocks on the top of the mountain, we were mesmerized by the breathtaking views all around. It was such an amazing reward for a relatively short hike.
Bald Mountain hike starts at the same point as Artists Bluff and then splits. We did not do the Artist’s Bluff hike. I was told if I was doing just one of the two to choose Bald Mountain.
