As we headed back to the airport in New Orleans for our flight home I wanted to quickly stop and enjoy some nature before heading back to the February cold in New York.

The Bucktown Marsh Boardwalk, located on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain, is a boardwalk over wetlands that are home to a variety of birds and wildlife with the added bonus of the beautiful lake views.

We enjoyed a walk on the boardwalk which had information posted about the marsh and the types of  animals sighted there. Once we reached the end, we turned around and continued on our way to the airport.
