When we entered the area of the gorges, after walking about 20 minutes through the beech tree forest with the many information boards explaining the nature and geology all around, we continued down many steps to the entrance of the gorge to begin the loop path through the Gorge.
Right before the entrance to the gorge is a video presentation about the history and geology of the site. We continued to the entrance and were treated to our first view of the Dranse de Morzine River and rocks was from the glass floor which extends above the gorge below. Our breath caught when we got a glimpse of the deep rock fissures and the magnificent blue river flowing though. We continued down to the many bridges and pathways suspended above the river against the huge boulders.
It is fascinating to see the shapes of the rocks and limestone caused by the erosion of the river with its aqua colored water. Once we finished walking across the pedestrian bridge we continued back out to the beech tree forest and back to the parking lot. The area of the gorge is admittedly breathtaking but does not take very long to walk through.
