Loon Mountain Resort is a popular ski resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire with all types of accommodations on the mountain, including both hotels and condos. In the summer, there are some fun activities at the Adventure Center down at the base of the mountain.  The gondolas take visitors up the mountain to enjoy the sweeping views of the mountains both near and far. There are also many hiking trails that run through the mountain. Even if you do not stay on the mountain, there is plenty to do when visiting for the day.

When we visited this past summer, we had a great time at the Adventure Center located alongside the Pemigewasset River with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. There are climbing walls, bungee jumping and my personal favorite-ziplining over the Pemigewasset River. I couldn’t get enough of the views while flying by.

After we tried the activities at the Adventure Center we headed up the mountain on a gondola. The views all around were spectacular! We spotted some mountain bikers on their way down. Extreme Mountain biking is very popular on Loon Mountain. There is a bike rental at the base and the bikes can be taken up on the gondola to enjoy the downhill ride.

At the summit we walked around the paths near the café and took in the views. It was a bit smoggy due to wildfires in distant locations so the view was not especially clear. We could only imagine how breathtaking the views are on a clear day if they were this beautiful when it was not so clear. We then headed to the glacial caves and squeezed through and under the huge boulders until we made our way out of the caves. Once we emerged, we made our way back to the gondolas for the ride down. Visiting Loon satisfied both the nature lovers and adventure seekers among us.
