The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe a Field of Stelae designed by Peter Eisenman. There are 2710 concrete rectangular Steles. The Steles vary in height and the Memorial that resembles a bare graveyard. The Memorial is a place of contemplation and remembrance of up the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The Memorial was opened in 2005.

There is also an 800 square meter underground exhibition hall and information center. The exhibition hall includes themed rooms such as the Room of Dimensions, the Room of Families, the Room of Names and the Room of Sites deal with the fates of individuals, with photographs, diaries and farewell letters. When we visited I was not aware of  the underground exhibits and we did not go there. We only saw the Stele memorials which were quite chilling.
