Phoenix, AZ

Papago Park is a 1500-acre park, close to downtown Phoenix, which includes many popular Phoenix attractions on site. The park houses the Phoenix Zoo, The Desert Botanical Gardens and the Hole in the Rock – one of the many interesting rock formations that visitors come to see.

There are lovely hiking and biking trails throughout the park. Palm trees line the beautiful lakes and there are many picnic tables and grilling stations around them.

After visiting the Desert Botanical Gardens, we headed into the Park to climb up to The Hole in the Rock. Before starting the short hike, we stopped near the beautiful scenic lake and enjoyed a relaxing picnic lunch. We couldn’t help but admire the crystal clear looking lake and the many palm trees framing the horizon.

We noticed bikers and hikers passing by. Once we finished our lunch we headed over to the Hole in the Rock trailhead for the short hike up.
