Safed Candles is not just a shop and not just a museum. It is a mandatory stop when you visit Safed. The candles found there in the most intricate and sometimes outlandish shapes are extremely rare.

Safed candles relocated to Safed from Jerusalem’s Old City 18 years ago. The artist behind the amazing wax creations is Moshe Chaim Gress. The sculptures and intricate designed candles are done on site.

The candles vary from scenes in the Bible such as Noah’s Ark to books, a chess set, bride and groom in addition to many other intricate scenes are represented in the gallery. Each sculpture is hand-made from pure beeswax and is a burnable candle. It is truly an amazing sight to behold.
