We passed the Scierie De Villapeyron, 20th century sawmill. The wooden structure with the piles of large logs out front and a babbling brook out back caught my eye. The adjacent parking lot with two picnic tables struck me as a great place for a picnic supper.
We sat at the picnic table and enjoyed the view and sound of the flowing water right behind us. When we were done we walked over the foot bridge on the right to the path behind the water. We enjoyed watching the cows with their tinkling bells and continued walking on the path in the woods alongside the water until it was time for us to turn around and return to the car.
The actual sawmill was recently restored although we did not actually see it-we just enjoyed the grounds.
