I had last been in New Hampshire when I was a teen. This past summer, I returned with my children, and I knew Story Land was definitely one of the places to visit during our trip. The park, which opened in 1954, is the amusement park of your dreams. From young children to adults, there is so much fun to be had in this storybook themed amusement park. Story Land boasts over 30 family friendly and fun rides spread over beautiful grounds in a clean family friendly environment.
There are rides that cater specifically for the little ones but parents can join along in the fun as well. I especially enjoyed the Little Dreamers Nursery Rhyme Play Area where nursery rhymes are brought to life and the little ones can play in the “Old Woman’s Shoe” and sit near Humpty Dumpty or check out the Three Little Pigs and the houses they built. Children and adults can ride Cinderella’s Pumkin Coach and visit farm animals from the storybook pages. The Ocean’s of Fun Sprayground is an all-time favorite as is the large sand pit and the tremendous indoor Loopy Lab softplay with ball canons, ball vacuums and all sorts of fun ball activities. The Huff Puff & Whistle Railroad is a practical and enjoyable way to get around the park without tiring. The décor in the park added so much to the magical atmosphere!
Don’t think that all the rides cater only to the little ones. The Polar Coaster was a lot of fun to ride, as was the large unique wooden Roar-O-Saurus roller coaster. Our family favorites were the Bamboo Chutes log flume ride and Dr. Geyser’s Remarkable Raft Ride. We had a great time on the water rides and the best part was that we didn’t need to change into bathing suits. We got to continue on to the next rides immediately. The swan boats in the pond near Cinderella’s Castle are also a very popular.
There were so many rides to choose from that we didn’t even get to try them all. No wonder kids and adults clamor to come back again and again.
