The hallway in The Broadmoor West features a display of pictures of famous people who stayed in The Broadmoor over the years. This display includes former presidents of the United States, famous sports personalities, famous politicians, movie stars and more. It is not surprising that all these famous people chose The Broadmoor as their hotel of choice. This century old five star, five diamond hotel, goes above and beyond in their service and amenities making guests feel pampered and special.

The accommodations in the many buildings and wings that make up the Broadmoor are all outstanding, each in its own way. They offer Classic Rooms, Superior Rooms, Premier Rooms and ADA Rooms as well as suite options. I stayed with my family in adjoining rooms in the West Building. The décor of our spacious rooms were magnificent. The beds were extremely comfortable and the couches allowed for extra chilling areas. Each room had a coffee machine and refrigerator. The bathrooms were spacious with both a tub and powerful shower.

The Broadmoor has everything on site and more. In fact, my aunt said she once stayed for two weeks and left only once to see Pikes Peak. There are a variety of shops, an amazing Spa and Salon and 20 restaurants, cafes and lounges to choose where to eat. Ristorante del Lago, La Taverne and Summit are all popular choices. I did not try the restaurants since I eat only kosher but I was told that The Broadmoor can arrange for kosher food for guests to be brought in from Denver (Our stay was booked at the last minute).

There is never a dull moment at The Broadmoor. It is extremely family friendly with a lot of activities on site. In addition to the indoor and outdoor pools there is paddle boating on the lake, famous golf courses, tennis courts and there is the Penrose Heritage Museum on site. Biking and horseback riding are activities offered at The Broadmoor as well. The Broadmoor Outfitters professional guides offer some really amazing outdoor adventures.  We went fly fishing and on the Soaring Adventure-the most awesome zipline tour through the canyons near the Broadmoor Seven Falls. The views of the surrounding areas from the ziplines up there were outstanding.

The Broadmoor Seven Falls is worth a trip of its own. The Broadmoor Seven Falls is not on site but located less than a mile away from the hotel within a 1,250 foot canyon with stairs ascending up near the seven cascading waterfalls. The Broadmoor is also rebuilding the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak (scheduled to open in May 2021). What could be better? A combination of my favorite two places in Colorado Springs -The Broadmoor and Pikes Peak.

The descriptions above only scale the surface of what makes The Broadmoor such a unique and amazing place. I love to try new places. I generally don’t visit places more than once but The Broadmoor definitely warrants a return trip!
