I didn’t want to leave Myrtle Beach without visiting Wonderworks. It seemed so intriguing. The upside down building, with more than 100 exhibits, combines science and fun. So we made sure to fit in a visit the day we were leaving. And boy, I sure was not disappointed.
Beginning with the natural disaster area with interactive activities that help understand lightning, hurricanes and even the disaster of the Titanic. Continuing on to the 360 degree bike where it is possible to pedal the bike on the ride so that you flip over completely. There are also virtual sports and a pulley system where you can try lifting yourself up in a chair.
One of my favorite areas was the bubble lab where we made humongous bubbles with very large bubble wands. Lying on a bed of nails is an experience! It was interesting to see 3D images of our hand and foot prints on the wonder wall. The light and sound activities were fascinating as well.
The Space discovery lab teaches about outer space with hands on activities. The Imagination lab allows visitors to play Simon Says, gears and other popular games and activities in large fun ways.
There is a ropes course above the imagination lab and a 6D Extreme theater with seats that move along with the movie. Outside the building is the soar and explore course. A zip line and climbing course (not included in general entrance).
These are just some of the many fun activities that are part of the Wonderworks experience. There is so much more fun to be had so why not visit yourself?
