We really enjoyed walking along the River Walk in Breckenridge. We started out at the Breckenridge Alpine Garden; a very small area with flowers and plants, as well as pathways and benches right alongside the Blue River. We enjoyed dipping our feet into the refreshing and clear water before walking along the river toward the Blue River Plaza. All along the way there were pretty flowers and here and there we saw people cooling off in the shallow river. The Blue River Plaza seems to be a very popular spot to enjoy the water. There were many, many people sitting on the grass, watching family members below in the river. I think there was some band playing at the Plaza. We enjoyed a cute little play area with a slide that looks like it is carved out of stone. There was an abundance of cafes, shops and restaurants in the area. Main Street was closed off to vehicles with pedestrians using the road to walk through and enjoy the almost festive environment in Breckenridge.
