Lewes CanalFront Park was the perfect place to stop when we passed through Delaware. The three-acre park is located right along the Lewes & Rehoboth Canal is adjacent to the 1938 Lightship Overfalls (The Lightship was used instead of a lighthouse when one could not be built. The Lightship can be visited for a small fee but we came after hours.). The Lightship adds a majestic historic backdrop to the park. The park has a cute playground with a ship themed climbing structure, a fun merry go round. The park hasbaseball fields, tennis and pickleball courts.
There are walking paths along the canal with benches and a gazebo. My boys were excited to find a chess table with a chess pieces available for visitors to use.
