The historic popular shopping district in Antwerp is known as the Meir. Located right within the city, both natives and tourists love to visit. It is considered the most important shopping area in the country. It has every type of department store, specialty and high end store within the district. There are alleys branching off the main Meir Street with additional stores. When we visited there was a clown on stilts performing. There is a water fountain in another area and benches spread throughout the area.

It was definitely an enjoyable shopping experience.
