Shark Valley Visitor Center:
Miami, FL

After enjoying an Airboat Tour in Everglades National Park we wanted to see more of the park. We headed next to Shark Valley Visitor Center. It was a bit late in the afternoon and a bit overcast so we did not get to visit the observation tower which offers a panoramic view of the area.

There is a 15 mile paved loop trail through the River of Grass which begins from the Visitor Center. Bikes can be rented on site to enjoy on the trail. There is also a guided tram tour available from the Visitor Center which goes through the 15 mile loop. We arrived too late to enjoy the 15 mile loop but we did walk the short Boardwalk Trail and enjoyed the variety of birds and fish we saw while walking on the trail. We turned back once it started raining.

I would be happy to return to the Shark Valley Visitor Center on a future trip t enjoy the 15 mile loop trail and the observation tower.
