We decided to visit the Skylon Tower at night. We had seen the Falls during the day from many vantage points, so we thought the 775 foot high observation deck of the Skylon Tower would be a great place to see the illuminated Falls and the fireworks. We made sure to leave early, which was a good thing, because lots of people had the same idea as we did. (Note: if you go up to see the fireworks, look for a spot overlooking the American Falls since that is where the fireworks are.) The views of the illuminated falls were magnificent and we had a great spot in which to enjoy the fireworks.

The glass elevator to the top is located on the outside of the building, so you can enjoy the views during the 52 second ride. In addition to the Outdoor Observation Deck there is also an indoor glass area from which to enjoy the views. On a clear day visibility is as far as 80 miles away with views as far out as Toronto and Buffalo.

The Skylon Tower boasts a high end restaurant with a Revolving Dining Room which silently rotates 360 degrees every hour to give all guests a chance to see views on all sides. Tickets to the Observation Deck are included with a dining reservation.

The Skylon also offers a 3D/4D Movie about “Legends of Niagara Falls” as well as arcade games at the Family Fun Centre.
