Herbert I. Johnson Recreation Center:
Killington, VT

As we drove down the street to Thundering Brook Falls, we passed a nice-looking park. I made a mental note to return there for supper.  After an enjoyable hike at Thundering Brook, we went back to our rental, packed up supper, and returned to Herbert I. Johnson Recreation Center.

In addition to the picnic tables, picnic pavilion, and grill stations, we found a playground, a soccer field, a basketball court, a tennis court, and an outdoor pool (although I am not familiar with the pool hours), with mountains rising up behind the area of the park.

We saw other families in the park as well, grilling and enjoying dinner.  Some were playing ball in the fields while the little ones had fun in the playground. I enjoyed a relaxing dinner in the park while children of all ages found things with which to occupy themselves.
